The company is establishing retail outlets in northern Kenya to enhance service efficiency and market penetration in underserved areas.
This investment aligns within the Impact for Kenya Fund’s directive to support high-impact clean-tech SMEs that are advancing climate mitigation and market inclusion. Through the INK Fund’s investment, Safer Power Limited will scale solar solutions to over 1,500 households and 200+ hospitals annually, ensuring access to reliable energy and better health services in remote areas. Furthermore, new funding will enable installations of 15,000+ kWp solar panels annually, significantly lowering carbon emissions. Safer Power’s services are uniquely accesible, as their Power Purchase Agreements and leasing models enabling diverse and growing businesses to adopt solar solutions without cost prohibitive upfront costs that often accompany capital expenditures. Within INK’s broader portfolio, Safer Power complements other renewable energy enterprises by supplying the equipment, assembly, and distrubtion necessary to create enabling conditions for businesses and and rural households to transition to more sustainable and resilient energy sources.
