Why we invested
AV Ventures, through its AV Frontiers platform, co-invested in Kupuev Academy to finance the construction of a second campus in Bishkek. This expansion will allow the academy to significantly increase its capacity to deliver high-quality vocational training programs that align with the needs of the labor market. In the Kyrgyz Republic, many young people face limited access to relevant skills training, resulting in underemployment and constrained economic mobility. Kupuev Academy addresses this challenge by offering practical, skills-based education in high-demand fields, equipping students with the tools they need to secure employment or start their own businesses. The investment supports the Central Asia Impact Fund’s mission to foster inclusive economic growth by improving workforce readiness and creating pathways to better livelihoods. Within the fund’s portfolio, Kupuev Academy complements financial inclusion investments like Furuz, together addressing both the human capital and capital access dimensions necessary for sustainable poverty reduction.
